Long before Lowe’s and Home Depot and long before FedEx, lumber for building and packing/shipping came locally. River power was used at what is now the Jackson Dam to run a sawmill that operated under the direction of several different men in the 1800s. You can read about them here.
I had a handful of photos available to me to use for this build. Two seemed to offer the best in angle and sharpness. I preferred the one taken from the riverbank over the one from the bridge. The bridge shot one out but I’ll include both here.
